L'ArtisanChardonnay
About this product
When teenager Jean Claude Mas took his mother’s moped into his family’s vineyards, it began a journey in wine that combined traditional artisanal principles with evolving technology and winemaking ideals. Although Jean Claude inherited his father’s 35 hectares, he has established a vineyard empire of over 850 hectares in just 21 years. His wines are reference modern styles that offer superb fruit definition, freshness and drinkability. The beautifully defined L’Artisan Chardonnay encapsulates the perfectionism and ambitions of vigneron Jean Claude Mas. Minimum intervention techniques and organic vine growing are values that have been introduced to promote sustainability. The fruit is drawn from the rolling “terroirs” of the Languedoc region and cool-vinified to protect and amplify the pure stone fruit aromas and flavours of ripe chardonnay. Typically the expansive and expressive L’Artisan Chardonnay is pale gold in colour, with intense white apricot, peach, nectarine aromas, creamy textures, attractive vanilla oak notes and fine crisp acidity. It’s delicious to drink now and can be matched with pawns, oysters, grilled or pan-seared fish, white meats and salads.

There’s no shortage of flavour in this “South of France chardy”. Ripe, bold, buttery and golden coloured - this will sit well with the many customers who enjoy full bodied whites. There’s loads of ripe yellow peach and grilled pineapple flavour, and the oak isn’t overdone. Bang for your buck!
