Vintage 2018
94 points
A classic western Victorian/Pyrenees shiraz style, and a staple in our range. Those in the know have been buying vintage after vintage as it offers superb value for money. The 2018 edition has strikingly attractive berry fruit aromatics which carry onto the palate. The lifted, minty berry fruit flavours are penetrating and very long for a wine of this price. It's a medium to full bodied style, dark and blue berried, with chocolate notes, gentle savoury tannins and, saturating, bold flavours. Ready to drink now but capable of cellaring well.

Medium to full bodied, delivering excellent western Victorian Shiraz characteristics of earthy dark berries, hints of chocolate, a whisper of anise, dark spices and a grind of black pepper. The fruit is fresh and enlivened by a great acid line and a hint of mint - the whole package is smooth and long. Every wine rack should contain a few bottles of this. It’s so reliably put together, and just damn good value. If you happen to lose any at the back of the rack for about 5 years you’ll be impressed even more upon opening.
