About this product

This flagship wine for Krondorf is named in honour of the 121 settlers and their families that called the village of Krondorf home by 1850. Their spirit is remembered through the rare, meticulously selected grapes selected from 65-year old vines grown on a single site in the St Jakobi area in the southern end of the Barossa. Crafted by acclaimed Head Winemaker Nick Badrice, the 121 Settlers Shiraz is a full bodied wine of finesse, with a broad depth of dark and red fruits on the nose supported by a backbone of elegant oak with underlying nuances of cedar and spice. Fruit carries through on the palate with luscious berry fruits and graphite, with amazing structure from the red clay soil. Fine, velvety tannins carry through on the lengthy finish. Drinks well now, or will reward with cellaring for a further 10 plus years.
