Pierres Dorees translates as “golden stones”. The region is known as “little Tuscany”, apparently due to its sun drenched beauty. The venerable Burgundian house of Louis Latour, after much research, planted pinot noir grapes in the very heart of this gamay country, Beaujolais. As you would expect, the wines are technically very good. The maker has allowed the fruit to come to fore. Delightful cherry, blue fruit and red currant flavours tempered with cherry pip, stalk contact and barrel influences are all apparent. There’s a refreshing, salivating tangerine quality in there, too. From the heart of Beaujolais, here is a supple and delicious pinot noir!
