MarrenonLes Grains Pinot Noir
About this product
Since the 1960s Marrenon have been a noteworthy producer in the Rhone Valley and Provence. Their repuation is based on the greatest respect for the environment, innovation and "the terroir, always the terroir!" The Marrenon moto of "Pleasure by Nature" is indicative of their approach to the growing and making of wine.
This 100% pinot noir (IGP- Mediterranean) is described by the winery as (having) "an intense nose of black cherry, jammy and toasted hazelnut. On the palate, the attack is of a beautiful smoothness which is prolonged by an explosion of fruit, fine and very pure, which fills the mouth, in concert with a light tannic structure. Carried by its freshness, this dominance of very ripe, slightly kirsch cherry flavour stretches in length, then evolves into notes of toasted hazelnuts on the palate."

Regarding colour, this is a light one. There’s no shortage of succulent pinot character, though. You’ll find red cherry aromatics, cola and chinotto hints, supple red cherry and strawberry as the dominant fruit flavours, a refreshing acid cut and a firm tannin finish to hold it all together. Drink it while it’s at its youthful best.
