Fortis, meaning ‘brave, bold’ is an Australian single malt whisky which celebrates local ingredients and the red wine barrel maturation Starward is known for. The first higher ABV release for Starward, Fortis is matured in 100% American Oak red wine barrels to give it a fuller and richer mouthfeel.

It has potential but it's let down by a finish that's a cross between powdered parmesan cheese and rotten citrus which is a shame because it's initial notes are well balanced and sweet. I like the Nova much better.
