Tasted beside the Killerman's Run Riesling, this Kilikanoon Mort's Block levels things up. What a beautiful expression of Watervale Riesling. From the original block planted by Mort Mitchell in 1973, this is clean and crisp and its presence is riveting. Bath powder, white florals and lime zest offer a come hither welcoming of sorts. Admittedly, it's hard to ignore. Clean and crisp, lime juice, Bickford's lime cordial, and riverstones drive through the core with the whip crack of acidity bringing the mouth to water. The suggestion of a grapefruit tang has me leaning in once more. This is an absolutely impressive Riesling and a steal for $25. Drink now to embrace the freshness but it will age for 10 years 95/100
