Domaine Francois CarillionChamps De Gains 1er cru Puligny-Montrachet 2016
About this product
The François Carillon Domaine, created in 2010, is the long-lasting legacy of a wine family business that dates back to the 16th century in Puligny-Montrachet, a very typical wine village in south of Côte de Beaune - Burgundy’s most renown terroir for white wines. Located in the heart of the village, the estate owns and manages today a sixteen-hectare-vineyard located in Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. The estate produces about seventeen (depending on the harvests) different appellations, mainly in Chardonnay.
This Puligny-Montrachet premier cru is characterised by its seductive nose, with citrus and floral aromas and buttery hazelnut notes. The palate has excellent volume, concentration, freshness and tension.

The 2016 Pulingy-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ de Gains is showing very well, unfurling in the glass with notes of lemon oil, pastry cream, white flowers and crushed chalk. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, tensile and stony, with excellent depth and structure at the core, with a racier, less fleshy profile than its 2017 sibling.
