Silky texture, spritely red of freshness and levity. Red berry and red plummy fruit, white pepper, salt bush, new leather scents and flavours meshed beautifully. Long and lithe, rolls with a gentle sweetness, slightly creamy in a way, finishes with a smudge and gentle chew of the characteristically fine tannin. Such a pleasure. Luxurious and sleek Shiraz wine here.

V&A Lane is an important, historic vineyard but it was only in '08 that Wynns started making two V&A Lane wines, a cabernet shiraz and shiraz. The V&A story is all about fineness, grace and beauty, but there is an underlying power, too. Oozes class from this outstanding vintage with black currants, mulberry, cinnamon, crushed violets and faint notes of the Aussie bush. Skimming the depths that it has yet to reach but, nevertheless, mighty fine drinking in its youth.
