About this product

Château de Vaudieu, located in the commune of Châteauneuf-du-pape, was built in 1767 by Jean-Jacques de Gérin, lieutenant of the Admiralty of Marseille. Laurent Brechet, whose family has owned the castle for 3 generations, is focused on respecting these terroirs and producing top wines.
This classic wine represents the main cuvée characteristic in the style of the estate. A blend of 81% Grenache noir and 19% Syrah, this cuvée is from the best plots on sandy soil and red sandstone.  Syrah and a part of grenache are aged for 12 months in used barrels (34% in oak).
A robust ruby color. The nose reveals a subtle blend of strawberry jam and cocoa bean, then notes of white pepper take the ascendancy. In the mouth, the attack is fresh thanks to a fine concentration of menthol tannins, which evolves towards notes of graphite. To be drunk from now and for the next 20 years.
