The nose is richly filled with black plummy fruits and a load of dark chocolate. The power is evident immediately on the palate, with that fruit-crammed mix supported by firm tannins and slick French oak. There’s a little black live and dry bay leaf which emerges on the nose. A wine of structure and poise. (cellar 12 years)
