Gabriel MeffreCôtes du Rhône
About this product
Gabriel Meffre winery was established in 1936. It has since won the repuation as one of the best producers in the southern Rhone. The fruit, grenache and syrah, was sourced from vineyards growing on clayey limestone soils from the north of Vaucluse and Gard. Each component was vinified separately before final blending then vatting for 6 months. This delightful, medium bodied Cotes du Rhone boasts "moreish" plum and dark berry flavours. It's supple, with lovely juicy ripeness. Ideal with grilled meat or strong cheese.

Vintage 2019
90 points
Red fruit, woody herbs, a hint of mint and currants can be found on the nose. It’s medium weight with smooth drinkability. Oak is evident for its rounding effect and a touch of timber on the palate, but it doesn’t overwhelm the lightly spiced, herb-flecked cherry/plum fruit. Dusty tannins frame the package nicely resulting in a very approachable and good all-purpose drink.
