The 2019 edition of Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon screams of place, first and foremost. The seamless elegance of the fruit is tinged with classic regional bay leaf character, adding a savouriness to the mix. The wine is on the full side of medium-bodied and boasts perfumed red and black currant juiciness, an energetic mineral edge, woody herbs and a wonderful “euro-savoury” tannin structure. Unforced and long, the structure of this Margaret River classic should ensure excellent cellaring over the medium term.
