Medium to full brassy straw-yellow hue. The bouquet is very toasty and nutty, roasted nuts - especially almonds. There's a fair touch of sherry-like aldehyde. It smells very pinoty and quite mature. The palate is very dry and savoury, with a touch of austerity, although there is some dosage liqueur evident in the mid-palate. The wine is intense and refined in its texture, very long and satisfying. The aftertaste is lip-smacking dry and carries a nicely judged grip. Lovely aged wine.

Pale gold pale yellow. Fragrant and developed hazelnut, tobacco, marzipan aromas with some stone fruit notes. Smoky tobacco, grilled hazelnut, stone fruit flavours, a touch of amontillado, fine chalky textures and fresh linear acidity. Extremely complex with lovely balanced dosage and fine effervescence. But quite developed and ready to drink.
