It works well for most sparkling bottles! On bottles with a thicker top it isn't going to fit, and thats why I think there has been negative reviews. Went back recently to purchase two more.

Seems to seal quite well,easy to fit.Its never slipped off top of bottle, can see that might happen with screw top shaped but corked bottles seam to be good
