About this product

Lying a mere 30kms south of the famous region of Beaune in mid-Burgundy, Montagny rests in the southern hills of the Côtes Chalonnaise. With meticulous attention to detail in the Louis Latour vineyard, it's obvious to see the results in bottle. The unique terroir does its part too with the vertiginous hillsides providing the fruit with plenty of sunshine to allow easy ripening.

A quality white burgundy

Not overpriced but complex and very enjoyable to drink. This is a good intermediate level burgundy but the casual drinker who isn’t totally into the whole burgundy thing may think it is a bit uninteresting for the money.

Fruity upfront and with a more savoury/saline mineral finish. Peach, melon, nectarine and fennel. Young so some acid attack but good overall mouth feel and balance.

This is one of my favourite easy-drinking summer wines, clean fresh taste and goes down a little too well.

Pleasant no doubt and in the high $30s, not overly expensive. As a Premier Cru somewhat fat on the palate, not as mineraly elegant as some prior vintages. Some nice creamy characters but more like an Ozzie chard than a French.
