Makes a perfect Kir Royale. You don't have to use the best champagne for mixing, and just a teaspoon or two of the blackcurrant syrup will make a perfect drink, mixed into the bubbly.

Such a delicious, simple, evocative cocktail. Always brings back happy memories of Provence. I think the reviewer who likens it to Ribena doesn’t really understand crême de cassis.

Was looking for something a little different for cocktails and this is a great combo. Works well where used sparingly say 20ml to 30ml for 2 servings when mixed. Depending on how much you want the flavour to come through. Would do 4.5 stars
