From UK-based Master of Wine, Tim Wildman, comes another iteration of his spot on pet nats. This one is a blend of nero d’Avola 56%, arneis 31%, zibibbo 9%, fiano 4% sourced from Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Riverland vineyards. Neat and tidy.
It’s a bright, fresh and vivacious sparkling wine set a few rungs up the ladder from rosé with strong currency of cranberry, rose hip tea, sweet cherry and a mix of woody and herbal spices gently chiming in. Bubbles are frisky, the wine refreshing yet shows a little extra depth of flavour, nee fruitiness. It’s a guzzler alright. Easy does it, charming and fun.
