Filsell has been a crowd favourite for many years at Dan's. The 2020 vintage enhances the wine's already formidable reputation. Up front, there is a good depth of purple/black colour. The freshness and vibrancy of the fruit is highly attractive giving the wine aromatic lift and early drinkability. It's a very detailed Barossa shiraz with loads of flavours to discover. Fleshy, spiced black cherry, blackberry and blueberry, licorice strap, cracked pepper and toasty vanilla/mocha oak ending with a very easy, soft tannin grip. The balance is superb and its future is very bright ( 5 years would be ideal)

Deep crimson. Intense ripe blackberry boysenberry dark chocolate aromas with hints of aniseed. A classic claret style with ample blackberry, boysenberry, mulberry, cassis fruits, fine chalky/ al dente tannins and underlying mocha notes. Finishes grippy/ cedary firm with a long inky/ minerally plume. A very expressive wine with lovey fruit clarity and restrained power. Drink now – 2028 14.5% alc 94 points
