About this product

The 864 range of wines by David Bicknell at Oakridge is a showcase of highly detailed micro-selections from the most exceptional vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley, with this remarkable wine sourced from the Close Planted Block, east-facing at 120 metres above sea level, in the grey alluvial loam soil at Coldstream. Vintage 2021 was a long, cool growing season with average cropping levels and ample rainfall has resulted in wines with outstanding varietal definition and purity. All grapes are hand harvested and sorted prior to destemming 70% of the berries directly to fermenter on top of 30% whole bunches for fermentation. Following 3 weeks of fermentation, the wine was then pressed to French oak barrels for a 14 month maturation before blending and bottling. Vibrant purple in appearance with a ruby hue. Opulently fruited on the nose with an expansive palate, with a generous core of blue and purple berried fruits, long chains of plush velvety tannins are intricately woven within the fruit providing length and supportive structure. Pure, succulent and refined from start to finish. Produced by Oakridge, Part of Endeavour Group Limited
