Garnacha (grenache) grown near Zaragoza, capital of Aragon in north-east Spain, produces wines that have a natural feel to them. They don’t require embellishments and provide a highly agreeable, well-priced accompaniment to a meal. The Inesperado (Unexpected) garnacha displays delightfully insistent flavours of wood-herb infused black cherry and wild raspberry. A confidently made middle-weight red, the balance is perfect and the signature fresh flavours carry well.
