First produced in 1959, Bin 28 is Penfolds earliest Bin-range wine, a voluminous and glossy shiraz. With an interwoven tannic structure and alluring tobacco and dried fruit notes, this is a satisfying red wine for mature cheese and savoury dishes.

Although this is a nice wine, it is still too young. So either age it for a year or more, alternatively decant a couple of hours before drinking. That will take off the sharp edge. Hence not sure it is good value at this price. The 2015

Expected it to be Barossa/ Kalimna sourced fruit but after opening and wondering, noted that it is now generic, regional non-specific South Australian’ Shiraz. Seems the marketers have won again but I wont be fooled next time!.
