Vintage 2009
94 points Halliday Wine Companion
Majella cabernet sauvignon maintains a remarkable consistency of style and quality. But this 2009 is among the line''s upper ranks. It''s essency. Essence of Coonawarra and essence of Australian cabernet. Rich with sweet blackcurrant, lifted by eucalyptus and red earth, dusty and tannic through the finish and of course, finished with polished, smoky oak. Packs a lot of flavour but all the screws are tight. Given the cellaring history of Majella cabernet, I''d expect this to age slowly, and to still be going strong in a decade or more.
