The qualities of the very fashionable Albarino grape are demonstrated very well in this typical Rias Baixas example. Most famously a match for pulpo (octopus) in its locale, it is equally scrumptious with all kinds of seafood from shellfish to sushi or whole fish. The Leira displays ripe, textural stone fruit characters with good intensity, a note of minerality, zingy citric acidity, and a floral touch.
