This is a turbid mid to light ruby, indicative of the minimal interventionist policy here: ambient yeast, no filtration nor fining. The skein of tannin, inflected with exotic Indian notes including turmeric and cardamon, suggests a higher percentage of bunches in the ferment. 18 months in classy French oak melds well, ably obviating the physiologically ripe fruit from an attenuated growing season. The overall impression is one of a svelte freshness, detail and intense succulence, despite the warmth of fruit. Truffled forest floor and crunchy red berry fruits sashay across maritime acid rails, towing the melee long. This is a delicious pinot.
