SHERRY SEASONED STYLE

We respect tradition and mature our whisky in oak casks seasoned with sherry wine hand-picked from Jerez, Spain. The Macallan Sherry Oak Collection features a series of single malt whiskies which are matured in predominantly European sherry seasoned oak casks, for richness and complexity.

This collection is matured in a higher percentage of European Oak sherry seasoned casks than American oak, which are responsible for transforming the rich, fruity and full bodied ‘new make’ spirit into a classic single malt characterised by tasting notes of ginger and spice, with a depth of flavour that develops through the range.

After seasoning in Jerez, Spain, the casks make their journey to Speyside and The Macallan Distillery, where they are filled with our ‘new make’ spirit. Our whisky benefits from spending the entire maturation process in these sherry seasoned oak casks, and the result is a truly sensorial experience with natural colour and intense flavours developed during the maturation.
