Australia's multimedia wine powerhouse

Nick Stock is a wine all-rounder, freelance writer, and producer based in Melbourne who first came to the industry through working in restaurants as a sommelier.

He was born in Adelaide but grew up in Sydney and has early memories of the smells of the wineries and vineyards of the Barossa Valley. A Len Evans scholar (one of the most prestigious programs in the country) and highly-respected Sommelier (twice crowned the best in Australia), Stock was voted "Best Drinks Journalist" at Le Cordon Bleu Food Media Awards in 2007. Other awards on his mantlepiece include the 2012 Born Digital Award for Best Wine Tourism Feature and a Silver Award from the Australian Cinematographers Society in 2013.

His main current focus is on writing (most prolifically with columns and features in Gourmet Traveller WINE Magazine and online at www.JamesSuckling.com) and bringing wine to life via his digital production company wineLENS, where he is the Creative Director and lends his expertise behind and in front of the camera (as well as his world-class palate) to the world?s great wines, winemakers, vineyards and destinations.

He has authored the best-selling Penguin "Good Wine Guide" since 2008, as well as contributing to various industry journals and independent wine blogs on the side.
