The Wolf Blass Winemakers

A new project from

The Wolf Blass Winemakers

To meet demand for new styles that are fresh, exciting and approachable, Wolf Blass’ expert winemakers created the Makers’ Project range. Three key winemaking techniques are behind the new Wolf Blass Makers’ Project range. Chosen by the winemaking team for their ability to harness each grape variety’s natural flavours, tannins and acidity, the result is a collection of wines that are fresh, original and exceptionally drinkable.

Organic Eco-friendly Red Wine

Organic Eco-friendly Red Wine

For every dozen bottles sold, the founders of Tread Softly, a new range of lower-in-alcohol wines, have promised to plant one native-Australian tree – that’s just one way the family-owned producer is making wine more sustainable. Co-founder Nicholas Crampton says they’re also working on making the entire range carbon neutral from vine to store. The pinot noir is bright and packed full of flavour, with black cherry, strawberry, liquorice and brown spice characters. Its low tannin profile means it’s able to be chilled, making it a great option for springtime entertaining. “It’s a casual, outdoor, warm-weather red wine,” says Crampton. “That’s why we love it.”

Exciting New Vodka & Gin

Spring Flavours

Exciting New Vodka & Gin

Not only are these new release spirits full of seasonal flavours like fresh fruits and herbs – they’re also incredibly easy to serve. Take the new vodka known as Haku, by the distillers at Suntory. Like the recently released Roku Gin, Haku Vodka is also uniquely Japanese. Haku is made from 100 per cent white rice, filtered through bamboo charcoal. This process is a Japanese tradition once used to sweeten the water for tea. It enhances the rice spirit’s sweet and subtle nature, while also making it lighter and softer than vodka distilled from other grains. Enjoy Haku neat to appreciate its delicate fragrance and floral notes, or with soda water and a lime peel garnish.

Exciting New Vodka & Gin
Though the concept of terroir is normally associated with wine, the team at Belvedere Vodka have given their new Single Estate Rye Series vodkas distinct local character. These vodkas are produced from a strain of rye that is known for its intense flavour. Each vodka is named after the Polish village where its rye is grown. The Lake Bartezek vodka is produced with rye from a north-eastern lake district. This rye actually spends more than two months buried under snow, which impacts the vodka’s flavour profile. The final spirit is a delicate and crisp vodka with notes of spearmint, fresh hay and toasted nuts. The Smogóry Forest vodka is made with rye from western Poland. This region is known for its lush forests and fertile soil, and these elements give the vodka its savoury character. There are also hints of salted caramel, honey and white pepper.
