Bring the festival home with this curated collection of cracking craft beers.

Made using hemp, chocolate, mango milkshakes and more, the beers that lit up GABS this year were colourful, to say the least. Wrapping up in Melbourne at the end of May, GABS (or the Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular) brought the biggest and best names in brewing together to celebrate the good stuff. If you weren’t one of the more than 20,000 GABS-goers who got to experience it IRL, or you just want to relive the highlights, here’s a bit of good news for you: the ultimate beer experts at GABS have put together an exclusive pack of the festival’s finest frothies.

The GABS Festival 8 pack is a mighty mixtape of boundary-pushing craft beer. The only thing missing is a live performance from the festival’s roaming brass band, The Ale Capones. Over 120 brand new beers (from over 60 producers) were brewed specifically for the festival this year, and these are the best of the best.

From a hemp-infused IPA to Banks Brewing’s breakfast-inspired sour and a decidedly sexy submission from Canberra’s Capital Brewing Co, bring the festival home today with this curated collection of cracking craft beers. FYI, these won’t be available anywhere else – so this pack is the only way to get your hands on these epic brews.

Here’s what’s included:

Deep Creek x Maku Brewing Co Wax On Wax Off Hemp Hazy IPA
Deep Creek x Maku Brewing Co Wax On Wax Off Hemp Hazy IPAThey say that teamwork makes the dream work. So it makes sense that we’re pinching ourselves over this crafty collab from Deep Creek (NZ) and Maku Brewing Co (Vic). Mango and passionfruit flavours are spiked with a herby hemp infusion for a big and fresh IPA taste.
Banks Brewing Get Up & Go Breakfast Pastry SourNo, unlike its namesake it doesn’t come in a popper, and yes, it tastes damn good. Squeezing all your favourite breakfast flavours (coffee, mango, vanilla and more) into a beer is no easy task, but the folks down at Banks Brewing have knocked this one out of the park. With the added bonus of granola and spirulina, this super sour comes with a disclaimer: please don’t pour it into your cereal.

Capital Brewing Co Smooches Chocolate & Strawberry Champagne Ale
Capital Brewing Co Smooches Chocolate & Strawberry Champagne AleCanberra isn’t exactly the kind of place that people think of as ‘sexy’, but this Champagne Ale from Aussie craft darlings Capital Brewing Co is about to change that. Made with cacao nibs and a lick of strawberry, real Champagne yeast sets it up for a smooth, seductive sip. Hello, room service? Send us up your finest Smooches.
Little Bang Brewing Co Face Berserker Double Citrus Super SourA la Spinal Tap, South Australia’s Little Bang Brewing Co took their most popular beer and dialled it up to 11 for GABS 2022. Not that they needed to – this beer was already berserk. Ultra sour and super citrusy, the flavours here are not for the faint of heart.

Helios Brewing Company White Kronos Stout
Helios Brewing Company White Kronos StoutOkay. This beer is BIG. Don’t be fooled by its creamy colour and subdued palate, it’s exactly the kind of stout you’d want to spread on your toast. Nutty and chocolatey with a slick mouthfeel and a crisp, clean finish – classic stout tings.
Six String Brewing Co Quadruple Dark Red IPAThis mighty, malty beast of a beer comes from Six String Brewing Co on New South Wales’ Central Coast. No beer has any business packing this type of heat. Heavy-bodied with luscious layers of caramel, toffee and chocolate, Quadruple stays in balance thanks to a delightful spine of citrus and pine acidity. Bittersweet, indeed.

7th Day Brewery Dropping F-Bombs Passionfruit Hazy IPA
7th Day Brewery Dropping F-Bombs Passionfruit Hazy IPAIt only takes two words to describe this Hazy IPA. ‘F*#k’ and ‘yeah!’. A big fat fruit bomb best served cold, 7th Day Brewery’s Dropping F-Bombs rains down a monsoon of pineapple, passionfruit and mango juicyness. Un-f*#king–believable.
Mountain Culture The Awesome Beer Mango Milkshake IPAWhen a brewer names a beer “The Awesome Beer”, things could go either way. Thankfully, Mountain Culture’s Mango Milkshake IPA does not disappoint. It’s thick. It’s creamy. It’s overflowing with tropical fruit flavour. It does exactly what it says on the box. Bravo.
