It’s on – 10 days of diner food and drinks with an all-star twist starts now. Plus, a free drink if your name is Dan.
And to drink? It wouldn’t be a Dan’s do without a mouthwatering array of drinks of all kinds. Cocktail king Dan Docherty (yes, another Dan) from the legendary Commis has spun up a wild list. Wrap your mouth around a Danhattan or Dan Murphizz, perhaps. Or maybe you’re more the type to go for the Dan's Super-Extra Ultra Deluxe Double-Straw Honey Wattle White Light Vodka Shake? Whoever you are, the diner has a cocktail (both alcoholic and non) for you. Of course, there’s also plenty in the wine, beer and spirits department – all Victorian, all brilliant.
You can pop in for a quick sip, a full blown feast or… a spot of education. At 3pm each day, the bar will transform into an open-invite educational tasting hub. Meet some of Victoria’s buzziest independent producers and score free tastings of their delicious drinks. From Patrick Sullivan to Four Pillars, Wonki to Blackman’s Brewery, there’s a tonne to discover.
Is your name Dan? Do you know anyone called Dan? Would you like to come to the best Dan party you’ve ever heard of? Here’s where it gets even better for you. From 4 to 5pm, Thursday to Sunday 21 to 24 March, it’s Dan’s Happy Hour. If you’re one of the first 20 people through the door during happy hour who can produce ID to show that your first name is Dan, Dan Murphy is going to buy you a drink. You’ll get a Dan Murphizz – a delicious concoction of Melbourne Gin Company’s fine dry gin shaken with Marionette apricot brandy and lemon juice, served long, tall and refreshing over ice with soda – for free.
Just come to the bar, show us a valid driver’s licence, proof of age card or passport to show that you’re 18 or over, and that your first name is Dan, Daniel, Danielle, Daniele, Daniela, Danny, Dani, Danni, Dannii, Dana, Daen, Daan, Dante, Danika, Daniyyel, Danail or Danyal, and the drink is yours.
Whether you’re keen on trying one-off menus from award-winning chefs or exploring the ins and outs of Victorian winemaking, we guarantee you’ll find something to sink your teeth into at Dan’s Diner. Swing by for a bev at the bar or settle into a booth for a feast – it’s a party either way and we can’t wait to see you.
