These days, the tastiest cocktails on the menu are ones that leave out the alcohol – and plenty more bars are serving up spectacular zero%* creations. That’s true of our next cocktail collab with the gorgeous Olivia Molly Rogers, AKA the woman who can do it all. She’s a former Miss Universe Australia, a mental health advocate, content creator, author and speech pathologist. Olivia has made us a very special, very delicious non-alcoholic cocktail, perfect for summer sipping – the Zero%* Alcohol Bloody Shiraz Sour. And yes, you read that ingredients list right – everyone’s fave gin purveyors, Four Pillars, have brought out a zero%* version of their best-selling Bloody Shiraz Gin. The aptly named Bloody Shiraz Bandwagon is the star of Olivia’s cocktail, has 0.4% ABV, and is every bit as delish as the OG. But before we start shaking tins and separating egg whites, a little bit about our friend Olivia. Olivia Molly Rogers decided 18 months ago to change her relationship with alcohol and hasn’t looked back. Now she is our zero%* alcohol ambassador and a big supporter of taking or leaving alcohol. Her weekend hobbies include “walking with friends or running along the river, and either going out for dinner or hosting a dinner party”. And, most importantly, if she were a cocktail she’d be “a Mojito, because it's a bit of a people pleaser, like me.” See? Stars – they’re just like us. For this edition of Mixing With, Olivia has made us a zero%* alcohol twist on a traditional Sour. The Sour cocktail family – which includes classic cocktails like the Gin Sour, Whiskey Sour and Old Fashioned – is traditionally made up of a spirit, lemon or lime, and a sweetener (like sugar syrup). Olivia’s cocktail takes this recipe template, but adds in grapefruit and raspberry syrup for a fruity spin. “It's delicious and a little bit different,” Olivia says. “And it also looks so pretty!” The cocktail is designed as a light bevvy for entertaining and is definitely a beautiful accompaniment to any summer barbecue. “I recently had a little party at my place and made it for my guests. It was a real crowd favourite.”

Ingredients
45mL Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Bandwagon non-alcoholic* spirit (0.4% ABV) 20mL grapefruit juice 20mL lemon juice 20mL raspberry syrup 15mL egg white (or vegan alternative) Garnish: fresh raspberries
Method
Add all ingredients (aside from the garnish) to a cocktail shaker Shake without ice until emulsified Add ice and shake vigorously until chilled Fine strain into a cocktail glass Garnish with fresh raspberries
Olivia’s top tips
Why is Olivia’s Zero%* Alcohol Bloody Shiraz Sour the best non-alcoholic cocktail for your next event? Well, it’s delicious and also wonderfully easy to make. But for those who need an extra hand with the recipe, here are a few of Olivia’s at-home hacks. “Add the egg whites at the end, just before you add the ice – otherwise the acidity of the other ingredients breaks down the egg whites and you don't get that fluffiness that we want.” The fluffier the better we say! If you’re not into drinking egg whites, we’ve got you. Simply add either 20mL of aquafaba (the great gooey stuff in a can of chickpeas) or two drops of Wonderfoam in your mix instead. And if you’re after some snackables to go with it, Olivia reckons her cocktail pairs really well with “fun party canapes and a big, over-the-top cheese platter”.
