Just three ingredients create the ultimate dessert in a glass for grown-ups.
About the cocktail
We rarely meet a desserty cocktail we don’t like, and this whipped, ice cream-inspired dream is no exception. Equal parts sweet, rich and moreish – much like your favourite dessert – the Cookies & Cream cocktail is sure to impress any sweet tooth in your life. Inspired by the classic Espresso Martini, the creaminess of the ice cream and vanilla vodka match perfectly with the nuttiness of the Frangelico, all topped off by the addition of possibly the most iconic cookie in the biz, the Oreo. The only question – original or double stuff? Akin to a classic thickshake or dessert you’d grab from your local drive-thru, these flavours aren’t here to play. Ideal for your next party, festive get-together or after-dinner treat, blitz this together using just three ingredients – ice cream and two staple spirits – and you’ll hack your way to being the host with the most.

Dan’s top tips
To keep the flavours as true to the ice cream classic as possible, we’ve balanced out the vanillin aromatics in the spirit base and ice cream to contrast with the nutty hazelnut liqueur. If you feel like mixing things up a touch, a spiced rum, Irish whiskey or bourbon could also be folded in to sub out the vanilla vodka to give this a slightly richer flavour. Love a thickshake? Add your ice to the blending process for an icier, thicker take. There are plenty of nut-flavoured liqueurs for you to play around with to find your perfect fit. There’s always the classic Frangelico and other hazelnut liqueurs, but keep an eye out for macadamia liqueurs or maybe even sub in amaretto. Mix and match. The beauty of dessert-style cocktails is they not only taste great, but they tend to come with the best garnishes, like this one’s Oreo. If you want to dial up the chocolate even more, feel free to drizzle chocolate topping around the inside of your glass for a swirled design, or dip the edge of the glass into sugar syrup, crush an Oreo onto a plate, then coat the glass rim for a crumbly finish.
