What is Prosecco?
Prosecco is a sparkling white wine with origins in Italy. Made from the grape variety Glera, it’s produced in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions in the country’s north. Named after a Village in the Province of Trieste, Prosecco can be sparkling or semi-sparkling, although still wines are also made. From 2020 onwards, Prosecco rosé wines have also emerged – this variety of Prosecco is blended with 10–15% of Pinot Noir.
